Good morning friends,
It is a rainy Friday morning here in the ATL and I just wanted to take a moment to say hello. I am typically the type of blogger who takes hours or even days to think through and compose my posts. Today is different. You need to know you matter to me.
When I began this blog over a year ago there was a very specific goal. Sharing our hearts as transparent sojourners through the adoption process to encourage others to step in to protect the fatherless…it was a lofty goal. I have always been a big dreamer. I figure if I do not step out to obey the Lord and make the world a better place, how can I expect others to do it? So we stepped out and we sojourned and we were transparent and…it did not go as planned. Don’t get me wrong, I am confident in the Lord’s sovereignty. Things just have not gone how I thought they would. In fact, I believe our goal has been successful in spite of the betrayal we experienced. Others have been encouraged to step in and protect the fatherless.
That is where you come in…where my gratitude for you comes in. Friends, you have encouraged and challenged me on this road. You have inspired me. Through your stories I have witnessed beautiful, Christ-honoring adoptions. Through your stories I have learned we are not alone in discovering the ugliness of fraud and trafficking in adoption. Our journey is far from complete, but you … whether you take the time to comment or you show up as a count in my site traffic … you have reminded me each day that I am part of a community.
This virtual community is so funny because I would normally hug someone who helped us through this adoption fiasco, and I cannot hug you. But I do want to tell you that you matter. And I want to thank you.
Together we can change the world. Who am I kidding? Together we ARE changing the world.
